Dragon

Another of the better offerings from this series. Talk like Yoda, Paolini does in his recounting of the first three books. Thankfully, he switches to his ordinary prose for the remainder of the book. The action takes many twists and turns and the major characters continue in their development. Paolini backslides a little into taking too long in reaching the inevitable climaxes or turning points, and he makes the rookie mistake of writing too much story after the major resolution, as if trying to tie off every last little thread (it's okay to leave a few to our imagination!). Although by no means perfect, it forms a more than satisfactory ending to a worth-reading fantasy series. A great choice for a beach read or book with which to travel, or even to read just to scratch the dragon-and-magic itch for regular fantasy readers.
